The blog here states various renewable blogs, the process of each one of them shall be discussed in separate individual blogs. So now,

Let us Understand RENEWABLE ENERGY resources.

Renewable energy resources are that are sustainable, something that can’t run out or is endless. For e.g., The sun, Wind, Tidal, Geothermal, etc. And when electricity or energy is generated used these sustainable resources are called renewable energy.

(Now, Nuclear-generated electricity isn't renewable but it's zero-carbon, which means its generation emits low levels or almost no CO2, just like renewable energy sources. Nuclear energy has a stable source, which means it's not dependent on the weather and will play a big part in getting Britain to net-zero status.)

Different sources of Renewable electricity:

  1. Solar energy:

Right now the most spoken about and talked about renewable energy resource across the globe is Solar, it has seen exponential growth in the past decade especially all across the world. And the amount of research conducted on the solar panel is the most as compared to all other renewable energy resources. And the new product such as solar lanterns, solar inverters, and well-known names in the industry are also entering the solar sector.

2. Wind energy:

Another growing energy source is Wind Energy, India installed 40GW by the end of 2021, The major Wind energy installation in India are in the states of Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, and Karnataka.

[ (Some extra gyaan) Wind is created when the earth’s equatorial regions get more solar energy than the polar regions forming large-scale convection streams in the atmosphere. Meteorologists predict that about 1%of the received solar radiation is turned to wind energy due to a considerable temperature gradient that could result in substantial convection and thus wind]

3. Hydro energy:

Hydropower provides 20%of the world’s power generation. It allocates the most important supply to 55 countries. For many countries, hydropower is the only homely energy resource (China and Brazil are two of the top five largest hydropower-producing countries in the world.). Electricity generation is considerably greater than any other renewable energy technology, especially in the less-developed countries. It is limited to the places where water is available and there is proper geomorphology. In India, 11.7% of total electricity produced till March 2022 was generated by hydroelectric power plants.

4. Geothermal energy:

Geothermal energy is thermal energy produced and stored below the surface of the Earth. The source of this type of energy is related to the internal structure of the Earth and the associated physical phenomena. The main problem with geothermal energy is that it is erratically spread, scarcely concentrated, and, generally, at depths very far to be industrially exploited. But it can cause various natural phenomena that humans are not yet ready to deal with. India has began its 1st geothermal plant in Ladakh.

There are various other forms of renewable energy such as Biomass, Tidal, and many more, which I shall discuss in the future Blogs stay tuned for more.
